When I heard Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson had gotten together for a new project, I had to hear more.
Surprisingly, it’s a not an album but a ho-ho-wholesome holiday film.
Angels Sing also stars Connie Britton and Harry Connick Jr. The story follows a suburban dad (Connick Jr.) who has lost the holiday spirit and gets it back with the help of “a mysterious man named Nick,” played by Willie.
Now, I’m not generally a fan of Christmas fare like this, but my love of these country crooners overrides that. (Plus, there’s this photo of Lyle in a ridiculous outfit.) Today I have an exclusive look at the movie, which showcases Lyle and his guitar.
All three musicians act sporadically; Lovett appeared on a few episodes of FX’s The Bridge earlier this year.
Angels Sing arrives in select theaters and on demand Nov. 1.
